Review: Do you remember going to rent spooky movies at your local movie rental place, shopping for what seemed like forever looking for the "right" movie, then settling on SOMETHING because, dammit, you're gonna rent a movie...and then it actually turns out pretty good? Apartment 212 reminds me of those times. It's about a girl who moves into a new apartment to find that something is slowly eating pieces of her each night. I found it fairly well acted and, while you're assumptions play out in a fairly expected way, but at least the big reveal doesn't happen until the last act like . It builds tension and intrigue well, and for looking like a pretty generic horror with a cliché title, it's actually pretty solid, and the allegorical nature of the tale makes for some good discussion after the fact (with all of your other scared Chads). Sure, it gets a bit hokey once the last act rolls around, but, by then, you're likely invested enough in the story and characters to keep going. Give it a shot.
Overall Score: 3 out of 5 Chads being slowly munched on like late night cold pizza. Did Apartment 212 scare you? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!
