Review: Boar is about a giant boar that kills people. Go ahead and adjust your expectations now. Boar is not a high-brow film, it is not an artistic film; Boar is like the Transformers of horror movies: you know what you're gonna get from those movies and you probably shouldn't hope for more. Boar leans heavily into practical effects for the titular monster, and those are equal parts impressive and unimmersive since it's hard to show a huge animatronic boar charging full speed into unsuspecting Australians. Unfortunately, the film fills in those gaps with spotty CGI that's just okay in the best scenes and Zoombies level bad in others (intro scene, I'm looking at you). Boar is also one of the goriest films I've seen on this list so far on account of it being a movie about a giant boar eating people. And, luckily, the majority of gore scenes are well done. Boar is a popcorn horror flick if I've ever seen one and, because of that, it didn't disappoint. Oh, and bonus points for casting Bill Mosley for a comically tame role.

Overall Score: 3 out of 5 Chads trying to keep their insides from being outsides. Did Boar scare you? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!
