Jigsaw

NameJigsaw

Directed ByThe Spierig Brothers

Subgenre: Torture, Thriller

SeriesSpooktober 2018 entry #4

Review: The 38th (and no longer the newest, as of this publishing date) entry into the Saw franchise, this time simply called Jigsaw. And as shocking as it may be, Jigsaw follows the previously built and cliched formula to an almost absurd degree. A new batch of morally grey characters are kidnapped and thrown into a death maze while investigators race against the clock to get them out. Is Jigsaw back from the grave? All signs point to...no! The Twist (© Shyamalan) is as predictable as it has been in all previous 37 entries, save for the first two. But, does that make it a bad movie? No. It's competently acted, well-shot, has some creative traps, and has solid gore--again, it's a Saw movie.

Overall Score: 2.5 out of 5 Chads feelin' a bit tortured. Did Jigsaw scare you? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!
