Review: In The Endless, we follows a pair of brothers who return to the UFO cult they managed to escape from 10 years earlier and find out that maybe the cult was onto something after all. It's a cerebral horror film and, while it does have a pretty explosive climax, The Endless manages to transplant tales of overcoming personal demons into a supernatural backdrop seamlessly. It's another Lovecraft-inspired flick from Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead (the directors of Spring, reviewed here, as well being an unofficial sequel to their previous film Resolution), this time focusing on the more commonplace elements of cosmic horror: dread, human insignificance, and a fate worse than death. All in all, it's a really interesting movie with pacing to keep you intrigued all the way through.

Absentia -- Mike Flanagan's First Foray into Horror
